HOXE, 8 DE MARZO, CELEBRAMOS NO COLEXIO O DÍA DA MULLER TRABALLADORA

Hoxe celebramos, no colexio, o día da muller traballadora. Dende a clase de Lingua Inglesa os alumnos de 5º curso fixeron unha representación na Biblioteca para os alumnos de 3º, 4º e 6º . Trátase dunha entrevista en inglés a posibles supervivientes e testemuñas do naufraxio que tivo lugar na Illa de Sálvora no ano 1921, centrándonos especialmente nas tres mozas, que tiveron un papel exemplar, rescatando a máis de 50 persoas.










Noraboa, por tan magnífica representación, a todos os nenos participantes e as mestras responsables, Ana Isabel e Camille,   sen as cales isto non sería posible.

SHIPWRECK AT SALVORA ISLAND.
PRESENTOR 1: Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to our Ría de Vigo news. The purpose of this new program is to talk about significant events in Galicia.
PRESENTADOR 1: Bo día señoras e señores! Benvidos ao programa de novas do CEIP RÍA DE VIGO! O obxectivo do noso programa é falar de feitos significativos que sucederon na nosa Comunidade.
PRESENTOR 2: Today, the 8th. of March, we celebrate the Working Woman Day and we have a very interesting theme. This particular theme highlights the actions of three young women that made history, here in Galicia. They saved more than 50 lives the night of Santa Isabel shipwreck.
PRESENTADOR 2: Hoxe, o 8 de marzo de 2012, celebramos o día da Muller Traballadora e temos un tema moi interesante. Este tema enfatiza as acción de tres mozas que fixeron historia aquí en Galicia. Salvaron máis de 50 vidas a noite do naufraxio do barco Santa Isabel.
PRESENTOR 1: This evening we have 5 interviewers and we are very lucky to have a few survivors of the shipwreck, among them some passengers, some crew and most importantly the three women. So, let´s begin the interview!
PRESENTADOR 1: Esta noite contamos coa presencia de  cinco entrevistadores, algúns supervivintes do naufraxio, algúns pasaxeiros, tripulación, un Oficial e o máis importante as tres mozas rescatadoras dos supervivintes. Así que, comecemos a entrevista!
INTERVIEWER 1: This is ______________, who was a passenger survivor of the wreck and we can ask him some questions. First of all, can you tell us in which year did the shipwreck of the ship Santa Isabel occur?
ENTREVISTADOR 1: Este é ____________________, o cal foi un supervivinte do naufraxio e podemos facerlle algunhas preguntas. En primeiro lugar, ¿poderías decirnos en que ano sucedeu o naufraxio do barco Santa Isabel?
SURVIVOR 1 (PASSENGER): It occurred on the 31st. December 1921.
SUPERVIVINTE 1: Sucedeu o 31 de decembro de 1921.
INTERVIEWER 1: Where did this shipwreck happen?
ENTREVISTADOR 1: Onde sucedeu o naufraxio?
SURVIVOR 1 (PASSENGER): It happened in Ría de Arousa.
SUPERVIVINTE 1: Sucedeu na Illa de Arousa.
INTERVIEWER 1: Ah, isn´t it very close to the Sálvora Island?
ENTREVISTADOR 1: Ah, xa!  está perto da Illa de Sálvora, non sí?
SURVIVAL 1 (PASSENGER): Indeed! It is only two hundred meters from Sálvora Island coast.
SUPERVIVINTE 1: Xusto! Soamente está a 200 metros da costa da Illa de Sálvora.
INTERVIEWER 1: Where were you coming from?
ENTREVISTADOR 1: De onde viña?
SURVIVAL 1 (PASSENGER): I was coming from A Coruña.
SUPERVIVINTE 1: Viña de A Coruña.
INTERVIEWER 1: What was the route of the ship?
ENTREVISTADOR 1: Cal era a ruta do barco?
SURVIVAL 1 (PASSENGER): We were going to Vilagarcía before our final destination in Argentina.
SUPERVIVINTE 1: Íamos cara Vilagarcía, sendo o destiño final Arxentina.
PRESENTOR 1: Thank you very much! Now, we will move onto the next interview.
PRESENTADOR 1: Moitas grazas! Agora pasemos á entrevista seguinte.
INTERVIEWER 2: Here is ________________, a crew man from the ship. Could you tell us what were you doing when the ship was crashing?
ENTREVISTADOR 2: Aquí está ___________________, o cal formaba parte  da tripulación. Podería decirnos, que estabas a facer cando o barco bateu?
CREW MAN: I was controlling the direction of the boat.
TRIPULANTE: Estaba a controlar a dirección do barco.
INTERVIEWER 2: Can you tell us what happened?
ENTREVISTADOR 2: Podería dicirnos que pasou?
CREW MAN: There was a violent storm. So, we decided to enter the Ría for protection. Because it was night, we didn´t see the rocks and crashed.
TRIPULANTE: Había unha forte tronada, polo que ordenamos de nos refuxar na Ría para protexernos; pero como era de noite, non vimos as rochas e batemos.
PRESENTOR 2: Let´s have the women rescuers give their account on what they saw!
PRESENTADOR 2:  Agora, demos paso ás mozas rescatadoras para que nos dean a súa versión do que viron!
INTERVIEWER 3: María, did you see the shipwreck?
ENTREVISTADOR 3: María, cóntenos se viu o naufraxio.
MARÍA: Yes, I was, actually, walking on the shore and saw the shipwreck.
MARÍA: Sí, o certo é que estaba a pasear pola beira cando o vin.
INTERVIEWER 3: And what did you do?
ENTREVISTADOR 3: E que é o que fixo?
MARÍA: I ran home, but no one was there.
MARÍA: Corrín cara a casa, pero non había ninguén alí.
JOSEFA: You see, it was New Years Eve and all the people in the city were out celebrating in Ribeira, except some old people, some women and some children.
JOSEFA: ¿Non sabe….? Era  o día de Fin de Ano e todo o mundo estaba na vila a celebralo; tan só quedaban uns velliños, unhas poucas mulleres e algún nenos.
INTERVIEWER 4: So, you three decided to help? How brave!!!
ENTREVISTADOR 4: Así que as tres decidistes axudar? Que valentes!!!!!!!!!
CIPRIANA: Yes, we found a boat and went out to try and rescue some of the people from drowning.
CIPRIANA: Sí, atopamos un barco e partimos para rescatar aos supervivintes.
INTERVIEWER 4: Amazing! And how old are you, girls?
ENTREVISTADOR 4: Increíble! Por certo, cantos anos tedes?
MARÍA, JOSEFA, CIPRIANA: 20, 16, 14.
INTERVIEWER 4: How many people did you rescue?
ENTRVISTADOR 4: Canta xente rescatastes?
MARÍA: We were able to rescue 56 people, but we had to go back to shore four times.
MARÍA: Poidemos rescatar 56 persoas, pero tivemos que facer catro viaxes a terra.
JOSEFA: Also we didn´t do it alone. An Officer helped us with the rescue.
JOSEFA: Ademais, non o fixemos soas. Un Oficial axudounos co rescate.
PRESENTER: We are now going to talk to this Officer and the family he helped save.
PRESENTADOR: Agora imos falar con este Oficial e a familia que salvou.
INTERVIEWER 5: Officer, can you tell us about the rescue?
ENTREVISTADOR 5: Podería contarnos como foi o rescate?
OFFICER: Sure! It was dark because it was the middle of the night and so it was impossible to see. We were able to save people, since we heard their shouting.
OFICIAL: Por suposto! Como era de noite, non podíamos ver aos náufragos; así que soamente poidemos salvalos ao escoitar os seus gritos.
INTERVIEWER 5: Like the _____________ Family here.
ENTREVISTADOR 5: Como esta familia de aquí.
MUM: Exactly, we are so grateful to Officer ___________ and those three brave women!
NAI: Exactamente, estamos moi agradecidos ao Oficial Diego e a estas mozas tan valentes!
CHILD 1: It was so cold!
NENO 1: Facía frío!
INTERVIEWER 5: How did the Officer find you?
ENTREVISTADOR 5: Como os atopou o Oficial?
CHILD 2: We had a raft!
NENO 2:  Tiñamos unha balsa!
FATHER: It´s true! We were able to float on a door that was in the water.
PAI: É certo! Poidemos flotar nuha porta que había na auga.
PRESENTER: How lucky! Thanks to the women and their actions, you are here today to tell us about it. Now, we´d like to welcome the Mayor of Ribeira.
PRESENTADOR: Que sorte! Grazas a estas mozas e aos seus feitos, estades aquí para poder contarnos o acontecido. Agora, gustaríame darlle a benvida ao Alcalde de Riveira.
MAYOR: The action was so moved by the heroic actions of these three women that the King Alfonso XIII gave them medals and gave Ribeira the tittle of “So noble, so loyal and so Humanitarian City”. We are so proud!
ALCALDE: A acción heroica destas tres mozas foi tan conmovedora, que o Rey Alfonso XIII concedeulles una medalla, asi como a Riveira o título de cidade “ TAN HUMANITARIA, TAN NOBLE E TAN LEAL” . Nós estamos moi orgullosos!!!!!!!!!!
